I am a top rated copyeditor and proofreader who specializes in working with self-publishing authors. I can professionally edit your manuscript so you feel confident sharing it with the world.

I will give honest feedback and find and fix errors to help you improve your writing, but I will do so in a friendly, encouraging way that preserves your style and voice.

I have concentrated on editing Christian books (fiction and nonfiction), but I have experience working on a variety of genres. Past jobs have included YA fiction, business nonfiction, memoirs, children's books, and self-help books. I have helped many indie authors and work with custom/hybrid publishing companies. I recommend at least a copyedit and a final proofread to ensure correct and clear writing.
General information on my costs is below, but please contact me for a custom quote.
There are different levels of editing, but here is what I provide.
​
Light content edit- I can read your book and give notes on ideas you may want to expand on or cut out. I can point out gaps or inconsistencies as well. If I think content could be rearranged, I can also note that. This is not an in-depth developmental edit.
​
Copy/line edit- I can edit your book for flow, word choice, tense, point of view, spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I will also be on the lookout for inconsistencies and anything that needs to be clarified. I can also do a basic fact check and help create citations if needed.
​
Proofread- I can edit your book or other text by only fixing errors such as spelling, punctuation, grammar, and formatting problems.
​
I can edit in Word or Google Docs, and I am happy to use Track Changes or Suggestion Mode so you can see my work. I can proofread in Word or on PDFs in Adobe.

Prices
I typically base prices on word count and the condition of the manuscript. Generally, a copyedit will be 1.2 to 2.3 cents a word. A proofread will be 1 to 1.5 cents a word.

If you prefer to pay based on time worked, my rate is $35-$38 an hour. I can provide an estimate of hours needed after reviewing your manuscript.

This is a nonfiction parenting book written from a Christian perspective. I provided proofreading. The book won a 2025 Independent Press Award.

This is the first book in a children's book series. I provided copyediting and proofreading for this book and the second, which is yet to be published.

ABOUT ME
I have a bachelor's degree with a major in journalism and a minor in English. I worked as a copyeditor at a daily newspaper for three years before changing gears to stay home with my kids.

I have been freelance editing since 2018 and am a top rated freelancer on Upwork. I have copyedited and proofread more than 160 books as well as articles, essays, and other writing. My specialty is Christian books, but I enjoy working on other books as well. I am a member of the Christian PEN and the Christian Editor Connection.
